Each year, in each of our four counties, a committee of volunteers comes together to review applications, hear presentations, and ask important questions of non-profit agencies who seek funding through United Way. These committees make the difficult decisions related to the use of funds raised during the most recent campaign. Although a percentage of dollars is immediately set aside for Impact Funding in each county, a significant pot of money remains that must be split among various organizations who utilize funds for specific programs – from after school opportunities for children to prescription medication assistance.
