Young Leaders

Although new, in less than one year, the small group has logged over fifty volunteer hours to improve the facade of the Piedmont Library, assist with cancer awareness walks, and is planning its first official event – a community yard sale through a partnership with Frostburg State University.

On Saturday, May 21, 2016, the Young Leaders of County United Way, Inc., in partnership with Frostburg State University and Goodwill Industries, held their first event in the form of a yard sale – “New 2 You”.  With a similar concept to that of Penn State University, graduating and departing students donated items that were then sold as a fundraiser for United Way of Allegany County.  “For a first-time event, I am very pleased with the success and look forward to doing this again next year.  Our Young Leader volunteers worked very hard and made it a fun, energetic event for United Way.  Look for bigger and better in 2017!” said committee chair Juli McCoy.

Join us Saturday, June 3, 2017 at 8am for the 2nd Annual New 2 You Yard Sale at City Place in Frostburg!  What a great way to stock up on much-needed items for your college-bound student!
