Annual United Way Day of Caring and Sharing to Celebrate 25th Anniversary on May 13th
CUMBERLAND MD – Continuing a tradition that began in 1997, County United Way’s 2022 Day of Caring and Sharing will be held on Friday, May 13 at 42 designated clean-up and beautification sites around the community.
“As always, the key to our success on this important day is volunteer participation,” United Way Executive Director Michele Walker said. She noted that the deadline for groups and individuals to sign up for work is upcoming on Friday, April 8th.
“Interested volunteers and groups can call CUW at 301-722-2700 or email [email protected] to receive sign-up sheets. An editable PDF of the form is being uploaded to our website at www.cuw.org and will be active soon,” Walker noted.
As in the past, major partners for the event include Columbia Gas, CSX, the City of Cumberland and the Let’s Beautify Cumberland Committee.
2022 opening ceremonies are scheduled for Veteran’s Park on Centre Street. Lunch will be served at the Constitution Park starting at noon on the day of the event. All registered volunteers will receive a commemorative t-shirt that can used during the May 13 event.
